ManassehH4519 was twelveH8147 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 fiftyH2572 and fiveH2568 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And he didH6213 that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of JehovahH3068, after the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471 whom JehovahH3068 cast outH3423 beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. For he builtH1129 againH7725 the high placesH1116 which HezekiahH3169 his fatherH1 had broken downH5422; and he reared upH6965 altarsH4196 for the BaalimH1168, and madeH6213 AsherothH842, and worshippedH7812 all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, and servedH5647 them. And he builtH1129 altarsH4196 in the houseH1004 of JehovahH3068, whereof JehovahH3068 saidH559, In JerusalemH3389 shall my nameH8034 be for everH5769. And he builtH1129 altarsH4196 for all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 in the twoH8147 courtsH2691 of the houseH1004 of JehovahH3068. He also madeH5674 his childrenH1121 to pass throughH5674 the fireH784 in the valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011; and he practised auguryH6049, and used enchantmentsH5172, and practised sorceryH3784, and dealtH6213 with them that had familiar spiritsH178, and with wizardsH3049: he wroughtH6213 muchH7235 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of JehovahH3068, to provoke him to angerH3707. And he setH7760 the graven imageH6459 of the idolH5566, which he had madeH6213, in the houseH1004 of GodH430, of which GodH430 saidH559 to DavidH1732 and to SolomonH8010 his sonH1121, In this houseH1004, and in JerusalemH3389, which I have chosenH977 out of all the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, will I putH7760 my nameH8034 for everH5865: neither will I any moreH3254 removeH5493 the footH7272 of IsraelH3478 from off the landH127 which I have appointedH5975 for your fathersH1, ifH518 only they will observeH8104 to doH6213 all thatH518 I have commandedH6680 them, even all the lawH8451 and the statutesH2706 and the ordinancesH4941 given byH3027 MosesH4872. And ManassehH4519 seducedH8582 JudahH3063 and the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389, so that they didH6213 evilH8582 moreH7451 than did the nationsH1471 whom JehovahH3068 destroyedH8045 beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. And JehovahH3068 spakeH1696 to ManassehH4519, and to his peopleH5971; but they gave no heedH7181. Wherefore JehovahH3068 broughtH935 upon them the captains ofH8269 the host ofH8269 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, who tookH3920 ManassehH4519 in chains, and bound himH631 with fettersH5178, and carriedH3212 himH631 to BabylonH894. And when he was in distressH6887, he besoughtH2470 JehovahH3068 his GodH430, and humbledH3665 himself greatlyH3966 beforeH6440 the GodH430 of his fathersH1. And he prayedH6419 unto him; and he was entreatedH6279 of him, and heardH8085 his supplicationH8467, and brought him againH7725 to JerusalemH3389 into his kingdomH4438. Then ManassehH4519 knewH3045 that JehovahH3068 he was GodH430. Now after thisH310 he builtH1129 an outer wallH2346 to the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, on the west sideH4628 of GihonH1521, inH935 the valleyH5158, even to the entranceH935 at the fishH1709 gateH8179; and he compassedH5437 OphelH6077 about with it, and raised it upH1361 to a very great heightH3966: and he putH7760 valiantH2428 captainsH8269 in all the fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892 of JudahH3063. And he took awayH5493 the foreignH5236 godsH430, and the idolH5566 out of the houseH1004 of JehovahH3068, and all the altarsH4196 that he had builtH1129 in the mountH2022 of the houseH1004 of JehovahH3068, and in JerusalemH3389, and castH7993 them outH2351 of the cityH5892. And he builtH1129 up the altarH4196 of JehovahH3068, and offeredH2076 thereon sacrificesH8002 of peace-offeringsH2077 and of thanksgivingH8426, and commandedH559 JudahH3063 to serveH5647 JehovahH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478. NeverthelessH61 the peopleH5971 sacrificedH2076 still in the high placesH1116, but only unto JehovahH3068 their GodH430. Now the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ManassehH4519, and his prayerH8605 unto his GodH430, and the wordsH1697 of the seersH2374 that spakeH1696 to him in the nameH8034 of JehovahH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, behold, they are written among the actsH1697 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478. His prayerH8605 also, and how God was entreatedH6279 of him, and all his sinH2403 and his trespassH4604, and the placesH4725 wherein he builtH1129 high placesH1116, and set upH5975 the AsherimH842 and the graven imagesH6456, beforeH6440 he humbledH3665 himself: behold, they are writtenH3789 in the historyH1697 of HozaiH2374. So ManassehH4519 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1, and they buriedH6912 him in his own houseH1004: and AmonH526 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead. AmonH526 was twentyH6242 and twoH8147 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 twoH8147 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And he didH6213 that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of JehovahH3068, as didH6213 ManassehH4519 his fatherH1; and AmonH526 sacrificedH2076 unto all the graven imagesH6456 which ManassehH4519 his fatherH1 had madeH6213, and servedH5647 them. And he humbledH3665 not himself beforeH6440 JehovahH3068, as ManassehH4519 his fatherH1 had humbledH3665 himself; but this same AmonH526 trespassedH819 moreH7235 and more. And his servantsH5650 conspiredH7194 against him, and put him to deathH4191 in his own houseH1004. But the peopleH5971 of the landH776 slewH5221 all them that had conspiredH7194 against kingH4428 AmonH526; and the peopleH5971 of the landH776 madeH4427 JosiahH2977 his sonH1121 kingH4427 in his stead.
