TwentyH6242 and fiveH2568 yearsH8141 oldH1121 was he when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 twentyH6242 and nineH8672 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389: and his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was AbiH21 the daughterH1323 of ZechariahH2148.
And he didH6213 that which was rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of JehovahH3068, according to all that DavidH1732 his fatherH1 had doneH6213.
He removedH5493 the high placesH1116, and brakeH7665 the pillarsH4676, and cut downH3772 the AsherahH842: and he brake in piecesH3807 the brazenH5178 serpentH5175 that MosesH4872 had madeH6213; for unto those daysH3117 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 did burn incenseH6999 to it; and he calledH7121 it NehushtanH5180.
He trustedH982 in JehovahH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; so that afterH310 him was none like him among all the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, nor among them that were beforeH6440 him.
For he claveH1692 to JehovahH3068; he departedH5493 not from followingH310 him, but keptH8104 his commandmentsH4687, which JehovahH3068 commandedH6680 MosesH4872.
And JehovahH3068 was with him; whithersoever he went forthH3318 he prosperedH7919: and he rebelledH4775 against the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and servedH5647 him not.
He smoteH5221 the PhilistinesH6430 unto GazaH5804 and the bordersH1366 thereof, from the towerH4026 of the watchmenH5341 to the fortifiedH4013 cityH5892.
And it came to pass in the fourthH7243 yearH8141 of kingH4428 HezekiahH2396, which was the seventhH7637 yearH8141 of HosheaH1954 sonH1121 of ElahH425 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, that ShalmaneserH8022 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 came upH5927 against SamariaH8111, and besiegedH6696 it.
And at the endH7097 of threeH7969 yearsH8141 they tookH3920 it: in the sixthH8337 yearH8141 of HezekiahH2396, which was the ninthH8672 yearH8141 of HosheaH1954 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, SamariaH8111 was takenH3920.
And the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 carried IsraelH3478 awayH1540 unto AssyriaH804, and putH5148 them in HalahH2477, and on the HaborH2249, the riverH5104 of GozanH1470, and in the citiesH5892 of the MedesH4074,
because they obeyedH8085 not the voiceH6963 of JehovahH3068 their GodH430, but transgressedH5674 his covenantH1285, even all that MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of JehovahH3068 commandedH6680, and would not hearH8085 it, nor doH6213 it.
Now in the fourteenthH702 yearH8141 of kingH4428 HezekiahH2396 did SennacheribH5576 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 come upH5927 against all the fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and tookH8610 them.
And HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 sentH7971 to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 to LachishH3923, sayingH559, I have offendedH2398; returnH7725 from me: that which thou puttestH5414 on me will I bearH5375. And the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 appointedH7760 unto HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 threeH7969 hundredH3967 talentsH3603 of silverH3701 and thirtyH7970 talentsH3603 of goldH2091.
And HezekiahH2396 gaveH5414 him all the silverH3701 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of JehovahH3068, and in the treasuresH214 of the king'sH4428 houseH1004.
At that timeH6256 did HezekiahH2396 cut offH7112 the gold from the doorsH1817 of the templeH1964 of JehovahH3068, and from the pillarsH547 which HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 had overlaidH6823, and gaveH5414 it to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804.

And when they had calledH7121 to the kingH4428, there came outH3318 to them EliakimH471 the sonH1121 of HilkiahH2518, who was over the householdH1004, and ShebnahH7644 the scribeH5608, and JoahH3098 the sonH1121 of AsaphH623 the recorderH2142.
And RabshakehH7262 saidH559 unto them, SayH559 ye now to HezekiahH2396, Thus saithH559 the greatH1419 kingH4428, the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, What confidenceH986 is this wherein thou trustestH982?
Thou sayestH559 (but they are but vainH8193 wordsH1697), There is counselH6098 and strengthH1369 for the warH4421. Now on whom dost thou trustH982, that thou hast rebelledH4775 against me?
Now, behold, thou trustestH982 upon the staffH4938 of this bruisedH7533 reedH7070, even upon EgyptH4714; whereon if a manH376 leanH5564, it will goH935 into his handH3709, and pierceH5344 it: so is PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 unto all that trustH982 on him.
But if ye sayH559 unto me, We trustH982 in JehovahH3068 our GodH430; is not that he, whose high placesH1116 and whose altarsH4196 HezekiahH2396 hath taken awayH5493, and hath saidH559 to JudahH3063 and to JerusalemH3389, Ye shall worshipH7812 beforeH6440 this altarH4196 in JerusalemH3389?
Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledgesH6148 to my masterH113 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and I will giveH5414 thee two thousandH505 horsesH5483, if thou be ableH3201 on thy part to setH5414 ridersH7392 upon them.
How then canst thou turn awayH7725 the faceH6440 of oneH259 captainH6346 of the leastH6996 of my master'sH113 servantsH5650, and put thy trustH982 on EgyptH4714 for chariotsH7393 and for horsemenH6571?
Am I now come upH5927 withoutH1107 JehovahH3068 against this placeH4725 to destroyH7843 it? JehovahH3068 saidH559 unto me, Go upH5927 against this landH776, and destroyH7843 it.

But RabshakehH7262 saidH559 unto them, Hath my masterH113 sentH7971 me to thy masterH113, and to thee, to speakH1696 these wordsH1697? hath he not sent me to the menH582 that sitH3427 on the wallH2346, to eatH398 their own dungH6675, and to drinkH8354 their own waterH7272 with you?

Thus saithH559 the kingH4428, Let not HezekiahH2396 deceiveH5377 you; for he will not be ableH3201 to deliverH5337 you out of his handH3027:
neither let HezekiahH2396 make you trustH982 in JehovahH3068, sayingH559, JehovahH3068 will surelyH5337 deliverH5337 us, and this cityH5892 shall not be givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804.
HearkenH8085 not to HezekiahH2396: for thus saithH559 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, MakeH6213 your peaceH1293 with me, and come outH3318 to me; and eatH398 ye every oneH376 of his vineH1612, and every oneH376 of his fig-treeH8384, and drinkH8354 ye every oneH376 the watersH4325 of his own cisternH953;
Until I comeH935 and take you awayH3947 to a landH776 like your own landH776, a landH776 of grainH1715 and new wineH8492, a landH776 of breadH3899 and vineyardsH3754, a landH776 of oliveH2132-treesH3323 and of honeyH1706, that ye may liveH2421, and not dieH4191: and hearkenH8085 not unto HezekiahH2396, when he persuadethH5496 you, sayingH559, JehovahH3068 will deliverH5337 us.
