I was telling the team as we prayed before service, one thing that's really stirred in me this last few months, you know, there's things that are always true, but it's like the Lord just brings them fresh to you. And one of those is, as we gather on a Sunday morning, if you're a believer here, that means you are a New Testament priest. In the Old Testament, the priest would go, to their tabernacle, there was no seats in the tabernacle, the temple, and they would minister unto the Lord. And just the reality of New Testament believers, we gather on a Sunday morning, this is the gathering of the saints primarily, and that we would come and really minister unto the Lord. Now, out of that overflow, God touches us, ministers to us, it's okay to receive, all those things are true, but I'm coming as a believer, together with the saints on a Sunday morning in this corporate gathering, to do what? To minister unto the Lord, especially in song. To come and to bring what? A sacrifice, a praise. Even when I don't feel like it, even when things might not be going my way, Lord, you're not worthy because things are going great. You're worthy because you're worthy. Your name is above every other name. And I'm gonna come and lift my hands up to you and lift my voice up to you. And I'm gonna magnify your name because your name is above every other name. Every week we have different speakers just by nature of who we are and our team model of ministry and then others that share throughout the year. And so today we have, we call it Sons Sunday. We need to be a better name. I don't know, but oftentimes we'll do this three, four times a year, sometimes in between series and various things like that. We'll have some guys share with us. And so today we got two different speakers, actually. One here in the nine, and then another speaker in the 11 a.m. Very familiar to you guys. We, I believe, six years that we have been here. And most of you I'm familiar with. If you don't know me, I am St. Darla's husband. I have been waiting. Yes, thank you. I owe you cookies or whatever you like. I have had the privilege of 31 years, also six children. Thankfully, to say all of them and their spouses are serving the Lord, that is a blessing. Man, that's not anything we did just in ourselves, but just the faithfulness of God to the generations. And I'm thankful. And you can't make that go away now. I will get distracted. I am dead too, I will tell you. Whoever come up with that, Teddy, Sterling, man, I owe you. That was so good. So I wanna go to Psalms chapter 24. I've had about six months. The Lord has been kind of walking me through some things. For the last three months, I've been in a study, personal study in the life of David. Those surrounding David, Saul contrasting Saul's life with David's life. And I've got about three months worth of material here. So one guy, his wife complained about him being a long-winded preacher. And he said, well, you're gonna have to come up with a system, try a cert. Put the cert in your mouth. It's gonna last about 15 minutes. Keep one unwrapped in your pocket. Pop that one in there. That's another 15 minutes, 30 minutes. And when that cert is gone, you're done. Well, he accidentally got a button. I don't have any certs or any buttons, but hopefully with the Lord's help, I'm gonna try to condense these things that the Lord has been talking to me about and just let you in on some of that conversation. Charles Dickens started out his, his story or his book, The Tale of Two Cities. He was contrasting, most you literary individuals will know where I'm going with this, but he was contrasting of France and the rebellion or the revolution that took place in France. He was contrasting that with things he was beginning to see in England.

And as that began to progress in his mind, he said that it was the best of times and it was the worst of times. and we we definitely can see that through all points of society and there's things going on in our world right now in christianism that we can say man it is the best of times we have the ability to prog uh to to broadcast the gospel all over the known world uh we have the i've got a little bit of a ring up here if you can take that out um we we've been able to broadcast the gospel we can we can be in 24 hours to 36 hours we can be in any point in the world to walk in and share the gospel and to present the gospel it's the best of times but then there's also stuff in the church especially in the west that it is the worst of times we're sitting here scratching our heads saying how how do we not learn over the years and watching and just just picking up the bible if you want to see a study in human history of failure and success and revival and failure and success just read through the old testament and i look at that and boy i can become sanctimonious until i start looking at it and i'm like i'm not doing that anymore i'm not doing that anymore i'm not looking at my own life, and I've been raised in church all of my life, like literally all of my life. I was counting up this morning on the way in how many times that I could remember that I missed church. I think it was five, until I was 18 years old. One of those, you had to be nearly dead, so one of those was I was in the hospital with appendicitis. That qualified, okay? I was nearly dead. The second time, I had chicken pox. The pastor made my mom keep us home to keep from spreading that, and the other two times was when I was traveling on a mission trip, and I dare say if my mom knew I missed church that night, or was going to, she would have been upset. So it's not that you're always in church all the time, but that was my background. That's where the love for the gospel, the love for the things of God come from, was the influences that was transpiring in my life, being raised in the house of God. And in the middle of all that, all this up and down, struggling, and falling into sin, and stepping out of it, and repenting, and so it's just human nature. And so, and even in our own lives, it can be the best of times. It can actually be the worst of times. And so, I want to title this, The Pursuit of God, in Psalms 24, verse number one, the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein, for he hath founded it upon the seas, he hath established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord, or who shall stand in the hill of the Lord? Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord, or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul into vanity, nor sworn deceitfully, he shall receive the blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is my text. This is a generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob, Selah. When I begin to look at this text, this text historically is written by David as he has gone and officially got the Ark of the Covenant. The proper way with the priest according to the law of God, and he's bringing that back into Jerusalem, and he begins to, as you, if you read on down to verse number 10, he's, the famous chapter's verses, lift up your head, O you saints, and be ye lifted up, you everlasting doors, the King of glory will come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts. He is the King of glory, what we sung about. But as that was transpiring, it was really just a historical Bible nerd note standing on the outside, coming in with the Ark, and they're standing on the inside, and this was going back and forth. So you could imagine how glorious this was. But what is interesting is 80 years goes by, and they do not have the presence of God. The people of God, with this Ark that was the symbol of the presence of God, the anointing of God, it would go before them in battle. It was a place where, that they, every year as their sins would come to them, and they would come up to be pushed back. The priest would go in and sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat of this. This is a very, very integral part of their worship, and they was happy to go 80 something years without it. Eli's sons lose it. If you read the book of 1 Samuel and the first part of that, but what's interesting is there's about 40 years or so between Samuel coming on the scene, and Judges ending, every man did that which was right in his own eyes. So you say, well, this is worldly. These are sinful people. These are the people of God, and if we're not careful, we can begin to fall right back into that same mindset. We enjoy the grace of God. They did not. We enjoy salvation on this side of the cross. They were looking forward to that, if anything. We have all this blessing, and you know what? We can fall right back in here, and we are influencing, the next generation, and that's really what God has had on my heart. God has really been stirring me, so if this preaching is just for me, y'all say, man, point at me. Say, yeah, you need to do better, and we'll be great, and I'll just stand up here and preach to myself, but one of the things that God is stirring me, especially as a man in my family, and now I'm looking at I have a grandchild, and I have one on the way, is what kind of influence am I leaving behind, and that is not just what kind of influence am I leaving behind in financials. So that's financial things. That's important, and am I storing up some money back for them so that when I'm gone, they'll have a splurge and be able to start their life out. All those things are important, but more importantly is what kind of spiritual heritage am I passing on to my children and my grandchildren. That literally is, at the end of the day, is the most important thing because that influence is going to live forever. You realize that whether you're in this house saved or lost, cold, complacent, or on fire, you're going to live forever. You realize that whether you're in this house saved or lost, cold, complacent, or on fire, fire for God. You are influencing the society and the people around you. One man said that when we go to the grave, that that is not the end. When the world is done with us and we are done with the world, that is not the end because our influence lives on and has immortality. Our influence, our influence, good, bad, ugly, whatever it is, it continues on. Another man said that we had to wait till judgment before we, the end of all things, before we were judged because that was the length that the influence could potentially run, good or bad. And so when we begin to look around at our own spiritual life and how I show up to church, this is just the gathering of the saints. So much of our lives are built around, well, as I just told you, go to church, go to church, go to church. What is church? It's all about church. It's all about Christian living. It's all about walking out daily, right? It's all about how... How I show up every single day. The influence, how is that going to be judged is really, I guess maybe it's because I'm 51. That's becoming more and more important. How I respond, how I act, what I leave behind in influence is important. I don't want to be misunderstood here and I don't want you to think that I'm making a concession for sin.

But one of the things that I've always seemed to do... Especially as I've gotten older and really started understanding scripture and how to read the Bible, how to study it, is going in and really looking at the text and actually placing human experience in the text. You have to be careful. You have to be careful. I'm not saying that you need to balance that. But these people, sometimes we can read the Bible in a vacuum and think that they... Boy, it was just great, grand, holy, fire falling. Everything was going great and wonderful and it was... Pardon me. Thank you. Y'all heard that. We think that that's the case, right? That if you just read it in a vacuum, they were scared. They dealt with fear. They struggled just like you struggled. All the experiences that you are experiencing emotion, they actually experience those things as well. And so how does that influence of the youth group that Saul grew up in, how does that affect the way he lives? Or his Christian experience, but his experience. Again, he's responsible for his own sin. But what he saw lived out in front of him, how did that affect him? Just food for thought. I'm not making a new doctrine here. I'm not trying to step outside of scripture. I just want you to think about the text. Because it does have an impact. I was impacted greatly. I got in trouble as a kid. Some neighbors came and complained to my mom because I'm five years old, four years old, somewhere in there. I was baptizing kids in the drainage ditch. Where did I get that from? Because I watched quite often on Sunday morning, people being baptized, people getting saved. I mean, we played church because that's what we were exposed to. And that experience is there. That influence was there.

I could sit there as a small child and tell whether back in where I came from, we had times where there weren't no preaching. Okay. And that as a kid, you look forward to what John, you know, you look forward to those services where there weren't no preaching. Because that mean that the Lord come by and that, you know, anyway, it was a whole different, it was a, it was a different time. You, you, you, the preacher could get off the hook. And anyway, but we would, I would, we would watch that. I can tell you when, when the actual, sometimes it was hooked up, I hate to say, and the other times it was the spirit of the Lord moving there. And I could tell when the real spirit of the Lord was being, there's a little lady by the name of Sister Rock, walked in on the walker. She was a church thermometer. And you begin to see when the spirit of the Lord would start worship, when the people begin to worship and the spirit of the Lord would start moving, Sister Ross, you see them hands start to, and she started, she started responding to that. And I knew, okay, boy, we're going to get out early tonight. It's going to be, it's going to be one, it's going to be one of them Pentecostal services. But those individuals, there was people who ministered to me, who influenced my life, who spoke into my life at critical times that set me on the trajectory that, that I am on.

So here, Saul has those same individuals in his life, and he's grown up in a time, there's that Arkansas flipping out in there. He's grown up in a time when he's grown, he grew up in a time, I'll correct my English. He grew up in a time when they're, every man was doing that, and they were in the church. The priests were the ones who lost the art. They decided they're going to run out there. We're just going to pick up where we left off. We've been doing what we want to do. We've been doing what we want to do. We've been doing what we want to do. We've been kind of been living how we want to live. We've been left foot in to, we're in worldliness and right foot out and, you know, just doing the hokey pokey on, and then they, they step out of that and they go, we're going to go out because the enemy's coming. We always do this. And they went out and they lost the Ark of the Covenant to the Philistines. And there's some real interesting reading as to how it come back, but it sits for a long time and it's David, not Saul. There's your first clue as to how Saul's life began to go off track, because he never sought the presence of God. He never sought the presence of God. He wanted God. He wanted God to work out all of his problems. He wanted God to fix, fight all of his battles. He wanted God to make him look good. As a matter of fact, when the kingdom is being rent from him, he's like unconcerned about that. Unconcerned about the, this heritage that has been given him. Unconcerned about the future of even his children and what that might look like. Because in that day, if you, when you lost the kingship, your whole family, your whole lineage was wiped out. Unconcerned about all of it. Isn't that how sin kind of gets us? We just get so caught up in ourselves that we don't think about anything else. And here he's, he's unconcerned about that. His most, his primary concern when Samuel told him that God has taken the kingdom from you is come out here and worship, worship with me. That was in that time when the, when the, when the priest or the judge or the prophet would come and worship with the king, it was a sign of approval. He wanted the people to think that God approved of him. He didn't really care if God approved. They, Saul was known for seeking the hand of God. The difference between Saul and David is David sought the face of God. As you're, even as he's coming into his kingdom. Now this, this wasn't in his rulership of Israel. This, the text that I read to you was not his first day in the kingdom. He had, he had some work to do. He had to unite the kingdom. He had, he had some battles he had to actually conquer so that they could actually be in Jerusalem where they brought the ark of the covenant home, the city of God. So those things were important to David, but it started as a pursuit in his heart. I love the pursuit that we have here with our youth driving the word of God into their, putting the word of God in their heart. I don't know how my parents were disabled. I won't go into their story. It's quite amazing, but I don't know how in the world they've kept me in private school, but that was something that was critical to my mom and dad was Christian education. And I remember I remember my memorized before I could even read. I memorized Psalms one, our teacher in kindergarten walked us through the very first chapter, five years old, a five-year-old can memorize 10 or 12. Trust me. They memorize game codes. They memorize all that stuff. They can memorize those scripture. And I could still quote those, those verses and chapters that I memorized as a kid, the word of God being placed in my heart. What was they doing? They were trying to, they was trying to set a trajectory for my life. They were trying to influence me. And that's what, that's what David's. I don't, and we don't really even know who was the real instrumental person in his life. We have a little tiny snapshot of his mom, his dad, they had no relationship whatsoever. Who was his influence? I don't know, but something inside of him, there was something that God began to work inside of him, even as a child. And I will tell you this as a young person, you're here and you feel like, man, I don't really have moms or dads who care about the things of God. It doesn't matter. God will come to you. I said, the Holy spirit will come to you as an individual. He'll begin to work. He'll begin to work in you real quickly.

Let me walk through my points and I will be, I will be done. The first thing, Psalms 24 and six, the face of God that David's thought, this is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face. So Jacob, see what this is the generation. He declares that I that's a verse that we can still declare today. This is the generation. We can make that determination. The ones coming up, my children coming up is one that can make that same declaration. We are, we are going to make the choice. Some things we don't have a choice in, but this, you have a choice in, and this is a passion and a pursuit. The face, the face of God that David sought. He said that this would be, I will be part of the generation. I'm going to lead the generation. He seeks your face.

The second thing will be the heart of God that David pursued the face of God that he sought the heart of God that he pursued. Do you know that this might mess with you just a little bit, but it is, it is the Bible. Samuel said to Saul in first Samuel 13 and 13, thou hast done foolish. Thou has not kept the commandments of the Lord, thy God, which he commanded thee for now would the Lord have established the kingdom. Upon Israel forever. Samuel or Saul could have, like I said, don't let it mess with you, but he, he could have had this. And he made some decisions that took that away from him because this is what God was looking for in verse number 14. But now the kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought him a man after his own heart and the Lord has commanded him to be captain over his people because thou has not kept the commandments of the Lord. Thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee. God is looking for men and women who have a passion to seek his heart. What, what is the difference in seeking his face and seeking his heart? When you seek, when you seek the heart of God at its core, the Hebrew phrase implies a man chosen according to God's own choice, desire, design, rather than human matrix or external appearance. While Israel chose Saul, he was not chosen according to God's own choice, desire, based on his tall stature and kingly looks. God chose David based upon his inner character. Being a person after God's heart means your life, your life's compass is calibrated to God's will, valuing what he values, loving what he loves, caring about his priorities. That, that's the difference. That's the difference. Seeking his face puts you in proximity. It puts you in not just proximity, but it puts you in direction with his heart. When I'm looking at David in the face, I'm also facing his heart.

Well, oftentimes we, we, we get upset and angry with God. And I want you to hear me here for a second, because our hearts, our hearts are pursuing the wrong thing. We're glancing at him. There's a difference between glancing at something and gazing at something. If you spend, if you get married and you get married and you get married and you get married and you spend any part of your marriage, gay glancing at your wife, you're going to be in trouble. There comes a point where it's full face. You're gazing upon that individual. There, there is, that's love. You, you won't ever learn to love anything or appreciate anything if it's just at a glance, but it's whenever we begin to focus on that thing, we begin to look at that. We begin to let it consume us. When you look, uh, when you, I'll tell you, like the first time I looked at Darla and looked into her eyes over, I went to, I went to Bible school, man, as a free man. Okay. Just, it was, it was okay. There's going to be lots of girls. It's kind of like a glorified youth camp. Everything's going to be great. And I mean, here she comes. I come walking out of first service Sunday night, come walking around the corner and she had just come out of the restroom. We're like this over the girl I ever dated in school, married my college sweetheart. I mean, it was done. It was, it was, blue eyes. It just is over. That would not have happened at a glance. That would not have happened. So was our love for God. How, how do I gaze on him by gazing into his word? How do I want to know his heart by, by making this the, uh, I believe it was Proverbs said, how, how can a young man cleanse his ways? What by putting the word of God into his heart, by living by those principles. But see, when we're looking at his hand, do for me, God, that's where we get, that's where we become, can become very bitter. That's where because he didn't meet my expectation. You know, when, whenever Darla tells me something that I don't want to hear, if my back's to her, I received that differently than when I'm looking at her face. If you're on the phone, I hate, I hate the air. She's a texter. I'm not. If you text me, it might be three days later before I respond. I just literally hate it. I'd rather pick up the phone. I'd rather pick up the phone. I'd rather pick up the phone. I'd rather pick up the phone. Actually, I'd rather just drive over and have a face-to-face conversation because now we both know you've seen my face. I've seen yours. There's, there's nothing. So many keyboard warriors hiding behind the keyboard, just pounding away. They'd never say that face to face. They wouldn't even think about it. I don't know.

I got way off course to step off my soapbox. Oh, that's, but that's where bitterness comes from. God, you didn't do what I wanted you to do. You didn't, you didn't have to do it. You didn't have to do it. You didn't have to do it. You handled this the way that I thought you should. Did you spend time face to face? Because that's where you would know his heart. No, we, we, we dream up what God's will is. And then we actually impose that on the image of God that we created in our mind. And then from that, we judge God. I've done it. I've done it. And then that's where the bitterness. And I want to tell you, if you want that to change, tear down that idol, because that's exactly what it is. That is an idol that we created in our minds. Tear that down and then go back to the word of God and back to prayer and say, God, I want to see you. I want to see you. I want to, I want to know you. I want to know you. The heart of God, the face of God that David sought, the heart of God that David pursued, the hand of God that David enjoyed.

I don't have time to go through this and we'll bring this to a close. I think the, the most notable thing is that if you have, if you, if you seek the face of God with your whole heart, if you pursue the heart of God, you'll get his hand. When, when you get the head and the heart, you get everything else. Instead of going at it backwards, give me your hand, do for me, Santa Claus in the sky. How about, how about looking into his face, making that the pursuit. And then God, what is your heart? What, what is your, what is your heart? We, we spend so much time, this, this elusive word called the will of God. I don't know, maybe where you come from, that wasn't a big deal, but man, in Bible school, everything was the will of God, this will of God, that I told Darla, we're going to Africa. We're going here. We're everything. You just, just driven by all these different things. You want to know where the will of God is for you to be conformed in the image of Jesus Christ. That is the will of God. And he loves you so much. And he loves me so much that he will take his hands and he'll break apart. The things he'll bust up foundations. He'll tear down little idols. He'll destroy all these different things because he loves you so much that he wants to conform you or make you into the image of his. That's, that's the goal. And, and you're, you're needing deliverance. You're needing comfort and help. Those things are all found in his hand, but you're not going to get his hands exclusively. They're actually found in leaning into John. John was a very interesting disciple. Well, everybody else was out, man. And, and, you know, it's kind of interesting because he's a man's man. He would get there really quick. I mean, he, he's one of the sons of thunder, but he also would lean into Christ. And when you'd see him, you'd find him leaning on his breath, leaning on his bosom. What was, what was he doing? Some point he would need the hand of God, but he was seeking the heart and the face of God. Are we going to be the generation? I believe we are. I believe there's young people in here, in here right now. God is stirring. I mean, you've, you're, you're, you'll, you'll sell sandwiches. You'll do whatever, barter, whatever you got to do to go on mission trips, seeking, seeking to do the work of God. That, that, and I love when the young people come back from youth camp and you see them lined up across here on the front and they're just like, let's go. And that's, you know, that kind of, that kind of fades a little bit, but the, the fear of this one doing something, this one standing up in school, this one over here. And you know that that same, the fire kind of fizzled just a little bit, but the fruit was there. Seek God, his righteousness, all the other things will be added. Thank you.

Thank you, William. That was really good. Why don't you stand with me? Let's just take a minute to do that. Jim, can I call the team up? I'm going to kind of call an audible. We got a little time here. Can I call the team up? I'm going to take an opportunity to, to just respond to the message. I'm going to take an opportunity to just respond to the message. I'm going to take an opportunity to, right here in this corporate gathering, to take an opportunity to just seek the heart of God. I'm going to just have the team play, play. And why don't, just right there in your seat, why don't you just close your eyes right there in your seat and just ask the Lord. My heart was stirred in that. William, it's so easy. You know, we think of the exuberance of youth. You think about the exuberance of a young person, whether it be youth camp or missions trip, all the things that he mentioned. But you know what? There's a scripture I'm always challenged by. It's Daniel. He, he records, he says, I was reading in the book of Jeremiah, or I was reading the prophet Jeremiah. He talks about how his heart was stirred in that. I can't remember the exact scripture reference where he says that. Daniel was 80 years old when he wrote that. You know, sometimes I know when I first really got born again, it's like, God, you just, you know, we would call it on fire for God. I'm on fire for God. But then I asked myself five years later, 10 years later, 30 years later, 40 years later, am I just going through the motions? Do I just go through the motions or is my heart stirred? Or I'm not just talking about feelings. I'm talking about a genuine pursuit of God, a genuine pursuit of his heart and his face and not just his hand. And you're talking, William, I got this image as this happened to me probably four or five times in my life. I'm going through a drive-through and I'll reach out and grab the, whatever it is that the person is handing me. And that person will say, Jonathan. And I'll realize I didn't even look at the person who was handing me. And it's like, you know, I'm not going to look at the student I knew or something like that. You know, somebody that would recognize me that I haven't seen, but I wasn't looking at their face. I was just in the drive-through, just grabbing the thing to just get on with life and get, how many times does God have to do that? Jonathan, don't just reach out for the thing.

So let's just turn this, this next few moments here, let's just turn this into a place of worship. Just calling out to God, guys, I'll just, y'all just lead us, just sing and whatever. I don't want it to be corporate worship in the song necessarily, but just sing and just, let's just create an atmosphere of worship. Could we? And just right there in your seats this morning, you might want to come to the altar and just say, Lord, my desire is to seek your face, not your hand. If that's you, just come on. Prayer teams, why don't you come? Just be available if you need prayer today. In heaven's roar, how awesome is the Lord. Sing it again. And how awesome is the Lord. God Almighty, the name above all names, you deserve the praise. Now and forevermore. Come on, just take a couple of moments. You may just want to bring your heart, just bring your heart. You know, one thing that I am really aware of in my own life is I really like routine. I really like, you know, I think even in being at Destiny Life, just the patience in building, the patience in life, the patience in stewardship. I just like the routine of that. I like the money. I like the mundane-ness of life in the sense that I think, you know, I grew up, William mentioned this, I grew up in, similar to him, in Pentecost of just, you know, we didn't think we had a good service unless the preacher didn't preach, which was kind of backwards, but that's a whole story for another day. But just this idea of this exuberance, we kind of live from spiritual high to spiritual high. And, man, we need times of real refreshing in the presence of the Lord. I'm certainly not against that. But I think the older I've gotten, the more I've gotten. The older I've gotten, the more I've realized the consistency of faithfulness in building, whether that's building wealth or spiritual building or whatever it is, the consistency of that. So I love routine. But here's what I don't love. So easy for routine to slide over into a rut. I love routine. I don't want to rut. And one thing I really love about Destiny Life, I look out over this crowd here, and I see so many people and families represented. I'm representing many, many years of faithfulness to Christ. Many years of faithfulness to Christ. But here's my caution to us. Okay, I'm including myself in this. My caution is that we don't slide out of the routine of faithfulness and consistency into a rut of just going through the motions. No, we need as a body. We need it personally. But as a body, we need times of refreshing from the Lord. We need times of the Lord. We need times of the Lord really manifesting himself in our hearts. That begins in individuals. That begins in families. And what does it do? It permeates into the house. I'm praying, though, over my own life. I need, and I pray consistently, Lord, I need a spiritual renewal. Would you refresh my heart? Would you refresh my mind? Would you refresh my life? Like, I'm not under no illusion that I've arrived at some sort of spiritual pinnacle that I don't need God consistently to manifest. I need God to manifest himself in my life. And that's my prayer, really, over the house. Lord, would you bring just a refreshing and a spiritual renewal? And would you shake the things that need to be shaken? I know that is a very dangerous prayer. Would you help me? Would you help us to be consistent, to be faithful in the mundane, to be faithful but to not be in a rut? Not business as usual, not same old, same old. But what are you doing? What are you doing? And can we join it?

So I want to pray that. And if you say, Jonathan, I want to be included in that prayer. That's my heart. Could you just lift your hands to him? I do that a lot just as a sign of surrender to him. It's not position your hands are not important. It's really our heart. But, Father, I pray over this body of believers today that we call Destiny Life. Lord, I pray that your word we heard today, not seeking your hand, but really seeking your heart. Lord, would you let that get deep within our being today? Lord, calling out to you, Father, for just a spiritual renewal or in the midst of consistency and faithfulness and routine, which we acknowledge is your kingdom. Lord, don't let us be in a rut. Don't let us just go business as usual. I pray just a breath and a wind of your spirit would blow over this house, would blow over every individual, every family in the name of Jesus. That, Lord, when we gather on Sundays corporately, that we would just sense a move of your spirit. When we gather as families in homes, that we would sense a move of your spirit. When we're spending time with you alone as individuals, we just sense a move of your spirit. I thank you, Father, for just a fresh wind of grace, a fresh wind of a manifestation of your spirit would blow over us. Do, Lord, what only you can do. Help us. We're calling out to you this morning saying, help us. We need you. We acknowledge you. Lord, not business as usual. Not business as usual, but just a freshness, a freshness, a freshness, a freshness, a freshness, a freshness in the name of Jesus. Do what only you could do. Do what only you can do. That's our prayer, Lord. That's our prayer. We're not trying to make it happen, but, Lord, we'll be intentional to press into you. We'll be disciplined to press into you. We'll acknowledge you. May the Lord just continue to do that and stir that in you as we leave today.

You can be seated for just a moment. We want to continue to worship the Lord with our giving today. And if you give it by check or cash, you guys know how to do that. It's very convenient. My right, your left. There's a book at the end of every row, a little black book. If you take that and pass it across, that helps us to just pastor you better and more effectively. If you could do that, that'd be great. And there's a couple of other steps. If this is the body of believers that the Lord has placed you in every month, the first Sunday night of the month, I actually don't, every time you say that, that's not the next one, right? We won't have one in September, but in October, first Sunday night of the month, we have a meal called Meet the Family Dinner. I would encourage you if you've been a part of DLC for a little while and you've never been to one, come. It's just an overview of kind of who we are and just an introduction of this body, this congregation. And we'd love to meet you. You know, some of our pastoral team will be there and it's a smaller group, so we can really get to know people as family. So we'd love for you to be a part of that. I mean, fill that card out, that welcome card. As you exit the. Building today, there's two buckets. Black buckets have DLC on them. You can drop them in there. That's where you can put your tithe and offering as well. Let me pray over the offering today. Father, thank you for your provision over every family, over every family. I thank you for jobs. Thank you for the opportunity you've given us to produce out of our labor. I thank you for that. Lord, there may be some here that are in need of a job or a better job. I thank you for guiding and directing. There are steps to a job or a better job guide and put them where you desire. Lord, thank you for business owners, part of this house here. Thank you for new services, new clients. Thank you for your favor over them in the name of Jesus. Thank you for faithful stewards. All the, all of us are stewards, managers of your stuff. We don't own anything. Lord, we just manage what you've entrusted to our care. Help us to grow in that area. Be faithful in that. Thank you for it. We bless you for it in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. If you've been looking for a way to get connected and find community here at destiny life, this is a great opportunity to see what groups are available. This fall groups fair will be happening in both. Camps is in the lobby after each service. So make sure you stop in and check them out. Christ colleges, apostolic church class begins September 14th. You're interested in growing in your understanding of the apostolic church and going deeper in your faith. This is a great opportunity to jump in and to Christ college.us for more information and to get signed up. The CCS golf tournament fundraiser is coming up Saturday, October 3rd. It'll be a four man scramble with a 9 00 AM shotgun start. So grab your team, come out for a great morning and golf and help support Claymore Christian school. How do we build the church? How do we grow the job? What's biblically about that? How do we become an apostolic people? How, you know, and a lot of it would be, you know, how does DLC, how do we function around here? So if you've got questions like that'd be a great class for you to participate in. So why don't you stand with me? If you're a golfer, even if you're not a golfer, I gotta be honest with you. Every time you go to a golf scrambler, you see scram, scrambler, golf scramble. You see people like me. I'm not a golfer, but I'm going to play and I'm going to participate and I'm going to have fun. I'm going to hit. Some brilliant shots and I'm going to hit some horrendous shots. That's why it's a scramble, but it's going to a good call. So grab a couple of folks and sign your team up and be a good time. Father.
