What is a church recovery meeting?

It is a weekly support group that meets at a church, for anyone dealing with addiction, alcohol or other hurts and habits, and for their families. Most follow 12 steps with a Christian focus. You don't have to belong to the church, and it costs nothing.

How a Celebrate Recovery night usually goes

It's free. Come as you are.
The night usually starts with worship music, then a large group time with a short lesson or one person's story.
After that, people split into small groups. Men meet with men, and women meet with women.
Nobody has to talk. You can just listen.
People use first names only, and what is said in the group stays in the group.
Some churches serve a meal first or have a program for kids. The church can tell you.
If you feel nervous, that's normal. Almost everyone did the first time.

This is a support group at a church. It is not treatment or counseling.
