Isaías 10
WoeH1945 unto them that decreeH2710 unrighteousH205 decreesH2711, and to the writersH3789 that writeH3789 perversenessH5999;
to turn asideH5186 the needyH1800 from justiceH1779, and to robH1497 the poorH6041 of my peopleH5971 of their rightH4941, that widowsH490 may be their spoilH7998, and that they may make the fatherlessH3490 their preyH962!
And what will ye doH6213 in the dayH3117 of visitationH6486, and in the desolationH7722 which shall comeH935 from farH4801? to whom will ye fleeH5127 for helpH5833? and where will ye leaveH5800 your gloryH3519?
They shallH1115 only bow downH3766 under the prisonersH616, and shall fallH5307 under the slainH2026. For all this his angerH639 is not turned awayH7725, but his handH3027 is stretched out stillH5186.
Ho AssyrianH804, the rodH7626 ofH1945 mine angerH639, the staffH4294 in whose handH3027 is mine indignationH2195!
I will sendH7971 him against a profaneH2611 nationH1471, and against the peopleH5971 of my wrathH5678 will I give him a chargeH6680, to takeH7997 the spoilH7998, and to takeH962 the preyH957, and to tread them downH7760 like the mireH2563 of the streetsH2351.
Howbeit he meanethH1819 not so, neither doth his heartH3824 thinkH2803 so; but it is in his heartH3824 to destroyH8045, and to cut offH3772 nationsH1471 not a fewH4592.
For he saithH559, Are not my princesH8269 allH3162 of them kingsH4428?
Is not CalnoH3641 as CarchemishH3751? is not HamathH2574 as ArpadH774? is not SamariaH8111 as DamascusH1834?
As my handH3027 hath foundH4672 the kingdomsH4467 of the idolsH457, whose graven imagesH6456 did excel them of JerusalemH3389 and of SamariaH8111;
shall I not, as I have doneH6213 unto SamariaH8111 and her idolsH457, so doH6213 to JerusalemH3389 and her idolsH6091?
Wherefore it shall come to pass, that, when the LordH136 hath performedH1214 his whole workH4639 upon mountH2022 ZionH6726 and on JerusalemH3389, I will punishH6485 the fruitH6529 of the stoutH1433 heartH3824 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and the gloryH8597 of his highH7312 looksH5869.
For he hath saidH559, By the strengthH3581 of my handH3027 I have doneH6213 it, and by my wisdomH2451; for I have understandingH2451: and I have removedH5493 the boundsH1367 of the peoplesH5971, and have robbedH8154 their treasuresH6259, and like a valiantH47 man I have brought downH3381 themH3427 that sit on thrones:
and my handH3027 hath foundH4672 as a nestH7064 the richesH2428 of the peoplesH5971; and as one gatherethH622 eggsH1000 that are forsakenH5800, have I gatheredH622 all the earthH776: and there was none that movedH5074 the wingH3671, or that openedH6475 the mouthH6310, or chirpedH6850.
Shall the axeH1631 boastH6286 itself against him that hewethH2672 therewith? shall the sawH4883 magnifyH1431 itself against him that wieldethH5130 it? as if a rodH7626 should wieldH5130 them that lift it upH7311, or as if a staffH4294 should lift upH7311 him that is not woodH6086.
Therefore will the LordH113, JehovahH136 of hostsH6635, sendH7971 among his fat onesH4924 leannessH7332; and under his gloryH3519 there shall be kindledH3344 a burningH3350 like the burning of fireH784.
And the lightH216 of IsraelH3478 will be for a fireH784, and his Holy OneH6918 for a flameH3852; and it will burnH1197 and devourH398 his thornsH7898 and his briersH8068 in oneH259 dayH3117.
And he will consumeH3615 the gloryH3519 of his forestH3293, and of his fruitful fieldH3759, both soulH5315 and bodyH1320: and it shall be as when a standard-bearerH5263 faintethH4549.
And the remnantH7605 of the treesH6086 of his forestH3293 shall be fewH4557, so that a childH5288 may writeH3789 them.
And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, that the remnantH7605 of IsraelH3478, and they that are escapedH6413 of the houseH1004 of JacobH3290, shall no more againH3254 leanH8172 upon him that smoteH5221 them, but shall leanH8172 upon JehovahH3068, the Holy OneH6918 of IsraelH3478, in truthH571.
A remnantH7605 shall returnH7725, even the remnantH7605 of JacobH3290, unto the mightyH1368 GodH410.
For though thy peopleH5971, IsraelH3478, be as the sandH2344 of the seaH3220, only a remnantH7605 of them shall returnH7725: a destructionH3631 is determinedH2782, overflowingH7857 with righteousnessH6666.
For a full endH3617, and that determinedH2782, will the LordH136, JehovahH3069 of hostsH6635, makeH6213 in the midstH7130 of all the earthH776.
Therefore thus saithH559 the LordH136, JehovahH3069 of hostsH6635, O my peopleH5971 that dwellestH3427 in ZionH6726, be not afraidH3372 of the AssyrianH804, though he smiteH5221 thee with the rodH7626, and lift upH5375 his staffH4294 against thee, after the mannerH1870 of EgyptH4714.
For yet a veryH4213 little whileH4592, and the indignationH2195 against thee shall be accomplishedH3615, and mine angerH639 shall be directed to his destructionH8399.
And JehovahH3068 of hostsH6635 will stir upH5782 against him a scourgeH7752, as in the slaughterH4347 of MidianH4080 at the rockH6697 of OrebH6159: and his rodH4294 will be over the seaH3220, and he will lift it upH5375 after the mannerH1870 of EgyptH4714.
And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, that his burdenH5448 shall depart from offH5493 thy shoulderH7926, and his yokeH5923 from off thy neckH6677, and the yokeH5923 shall be destroyedH2254 by reasonH6440 of fatnessH8081.
He is comeH935 to AiathH5857, he is passedH5674 through MigronH4051; at MichmashH4363 he layeth upH6485 his baggageH3627;
they are gone overH5674 the passH4569; they have taken up their lodgingH4411 at GebaH1387; RamahH7414 tremblethH2729; GibeahH1390 of SaulH7586 is fledH5127.
CryH6963 aloudH6670 with thy voiceH6963, O daughterH1323 ofH1530 GallimH1554! hearkenH7181, O Laishah! O thou poorH6041 AnathothH6068!
MadmenahH4088 is a fugitiveH5074; the inhabitantsH3427 of GebimH1374 fleeH5756 for safety.
This very dayH3117 shall he haltH5975 at NobH5011: he shakethH5130 his handH3027 at the mountH2022 of the daughterH1323 of ZionH6726, the hillH1389 of JerusalemH3389.
Behold, the LordH113, JehovahH3068 of hostsH6635, will lopH5586 the boughsH6288 with terrorH4637: and the highH7311 of statureH6967 shall be hewn downH1438, and the loftyH1364 shall be brought lowH1438.
And he will cut downH5362 the thicketsH5442 of the forestH3293 with ironH1270, and LebanonH3844 shall fallH5307 by a mighty oneH117.
