And it came to pass, when the kingH4428 dweltH3427 in his houseH1004, and JehovahH3068 had given him restH5117 from all his enemiesH341 round aboutH5439,
that the kingH4428 saidH559 unto NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, SeeH7200 now, I dwellH3427 in a houseH1004 of cedarH730, but the arkH727 of GodH430 dwellethH3427 withinH8432 curtainsH3407.
And NathanH5416 saidH559 to the kingH4428, GoH3212, doH6213 all that is in thy heartH3824; for JehovahH3068 is with thee.
And it came to pass the same nightH3915, that the wordH1697 of JehovahH3068 came unto NathanH5416, sayingH559,
GoH3212 and tellH559 my servantH5650 DavidH1732, Thus saithH559 JehovahH3068, Shalt thou buildH1129 me a houseH1004 for me to dwell inH3427?
for I have not dweltH3427 in a houseH1004 since the dayH3117 that I brought upH5927 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 out of EgyptH4714, even to this dayH3117, but have walkedH1980 in a tentH168 and in a tabernacleH4908.
In all places wherein I have walkedH1980 with all the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, spakeH1696 I a wordH1697 with anyH259 of the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, whom I commandedH6680 to be shepherdH7462 of my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, sayingH559, Why have ye not builtH1129 me a houseH1004 of cedarH730?
Now therefore thus shalt thou sayH559 unto my servantH5650 DavidH1732, Thus saithH559 JehovahH3068 of hostsH6635, I tookH3947 thee from the sheepcoteH5116, from followingH310 the sheepH6629, that thou shouldest be princeH5057 over my peopleH5971, over IsraelH3478;
and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentestH1980, and have cut offH3772 all thine enemiesH341 from before theeH6440; and I will makeH6213 thee a greatH1419 nameH8034, like unto the nameH8034 of the greatH1419 ones that are in the earthH776.
And I will appointH7760 a placeH4725 for my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, and will plantH5193 them, that they may dwellH7931 in their own place, and be movedH7264 no more; neither shall the childrenH1121 of wickednessH5766 afflictH6031 them any moreH3254, as at the firstH7223,
and as from the dayH3117 that I commandedH6680 judgesH8199 to be over my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478; and I will cause thee to restH5117 from all thine enemiesH341. Moreover JehovahH3068 tellethH5046 thee that Jehovah will makeH6213 thee a houseH1004.
When thy daysH3117 are fulfilledH4390, and thou shalt sleepH7901 with thy fathersH1, I will set upH6965 thy seedH2233 afterH310 thee, that shall proceedH3318 out of thy bowelsH4578, and I will establishH3559 his kingdomH4467.
He shall buildH1129 a houseH1004 for my nameH8034, and I will establishH3559 the throneH3678 of his kingdomH4467 forH5704 everH5769.
I will be his fatherH1, and he shall be my sonH1121: if he commit iniquityH5753, I will chastenH3198 him with the rodH7626 of menH582, and with the stripesH5061 of the childrenH1121 of menH120;
but my lovingkindnessH2617 shall not depart fromH5493 him, as I tookH5493 it from SaulH7586, whom I put awayH5493 beforeH6440 thee.
And thy houseH1004 and thy kingdomH4467 shall be madeH539 sure forH5704 everH5769 beforeH6440 thee: thy throneH3678 shall be establishedH3559 forH5704 everH5769.
According to all these wordsH1697, and according to all this visionH2384, so did NathanH5416 speakH1696 unto DavidH1732.
Then DavidH1732 the kingH4428 wentH935 in, and satH3427 beforeH6440 JehovahH3068; and he saidH559, Who am I, O LordH136 JehovahH3069, and what is my houseH1004, that thou hast broughtH935 me thus farH1988?
And this was yet a small thingH6994 in thine eyesH5869, O LordH136 JehovahH3069; but thou hast spokenH1696 also of thy servant'sH5650 houseH1004 for a great while to comeH7350; and this too after the mannerH8452 of menH120, O LordH136 JehovahH3069!
And what canH3254 DavidH1732 sayH1696 moreH3254 unto thee? for thou knowestH3045 thy servantH5650, O LordH136 JehovahH3069.
For thy word'sH1697 sake, and according to thine own heartH3820, hast thou wroughtH6213 all this greatnessH1420, to make thy servantH5650 knowH3045 it.
Wherefore thou art greatH1431, O JehovahH3068 GodH430: for there is none like thee, neither is there any GodH430 besidesH2108 thee, according to all that we have heardH8085 with our earsH241.
And what oneH259 nationH1471 in the earthH776 is like thy peopleH5971, even like IsraelH3478, whom GodH430 wentH1980 to redeemH6299 unto himself for a peopleH5971, and to makeH7760 him a nameH8034, and to doH6213 great thingsH1420 for you, and terribleH3372 things for thy landH776, beforeH6440 thy peopleH5971, whom thou redeemestH6299 to thee out of EgyptH4714, from the nationsH1471 and their godsH430?
And thou didst establishH3559 to thyself thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 to be a peopleH5971 unto thee forH5704 everH5769; and thou, JehovahH3068, becamestH1961 their GodH430.
And now, O JehovahH3068 GodH430, the wordH1697 that thou hast spokenH1696 concerning thy servantH5650, and concerning his houseH1004, confirmH6965 thou it forH5704 everH5769, and doH6213 as thou hast spokenH1696.
And let thy nameH8034 be magnifiedH1431 forH5704 everH5769, sayingH559, JehovahH3068 of hostsH6635 is GodH430 over IsraelH3478; and the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650 DavidH1732 shall be establishedH3559 beforeH6440 thee.
For thou, O JehovahH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, hast revealedH1540 to thy servantH5650, sayingH559, I will buildH1129 thee a houseH1004: therefore hath thy servantH5650 foundH4672 in his heartH3820 to prayH6419 this prayerH8605 unto thee.
And now, O LordH136 JehovahH3069, thou art GodH430, and thy wordsH1697 are truthH571, and thou hast promisedH1696 this goodH2896 thing unto thy servantH5650:
now therefore let it pleaseH2974 thee to blessH1288 the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650, that it may continue for everH5769 beforeH6440 thee; for thou, O LordH136 JehovahH3069, hast spokenH1696 it: and with thy blessingH1293 let the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650 be blessedH1288 for everH5769.
