Deutéronome 5
And MosesH4872 calledH7121 unto all IsraelH3478, and saidH559 unto them, HearH8085, O IsraelH3478, the statutesH2706 and the ordinancesH4941 which I speakH1696 in your earsH241 this dayH3117, that ye may learnH3925 them, and observeH8104 to doH6213 them.
JehovahH3068 our GodH430 madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with us in HorebH2722.
JehovahH3068 madeH3772 not this covenantH1285 with our fathersH1, but with usH587, even us, who are all of usH587 here aliveH2416 this dayH3117.
JehovahH3068 spakeH1696 with you faceH6440 to faceH6440 in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784,
(I stoodH5975 between JehovahH3068 and you at that timeH6256, to showH5046 you the wordH1697 of JehovahH3068: for ye were afraidH3372 becauseH6440 of the fireH784, and went not upH5927 into the mountH2022;) sayingH559,
I am JehovahH3068 thy GodH430, who brought thee outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, out of the houseH1004 of bondageH5650.
Thou shalt have no otherH312 godsH430 beforeH6440 me.
Thou shalt not makeH6213 unto thee a graven imageH6459, nor any likenessH8544 of anything that is in heavenH8064 aboveH4605, or that is in the earthH776 beneath, or that is in the waterH4325 under the earthH776:
thou shalt not bow downH7812 thyself unto them, nor serveH5647 them; for I, JehovahH3068, thy GodH430, am a jealousH7067 GodH430, visitingH6485 the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH1 upon the childrenH1121, and upon the thirdH8029 and upon the fourthH7256 generation of them that hateH8130 me;
and showingH6213 lovingkindnessH2617 unto thousandsH505 of them that loveH157 me and keepH8104 my commandmentsH4687.
Thou shalt not takeH5375 the nameH8034 of JehovahH3068 thy GodH430 in vainH7723: for JehovahH3068 will not hold him guiltlessH5352 that takethH5375 his nameH8034 in vainH7723.
ObserveH8104 the sabbathH7676 dayH3117, to keepH8104 it holy, as JehovahH3068 thy GodH430 commandedH6680 thee.
SixH8337 daysH3117 shalt thou laborH5647, and doH6213 all thy workH4399;
but the seventhH7637 dayH3117 is a sabbathH7676 unto JehovahH3068 thy GodH430: in it thou shalt not doH6213 any workH4399, thou, nor thy sonH1121, nor thy daughterH1323, nor thy man-servantH5650, nor thy maid-servantH519, nor thine oxH7794, nor thine assH2543, nor any of thy cattleH929, nor thy strangerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179; that thy man-servantH5650 and thy maid-servantH519 may restH5117 as well as thou.
And thou shalt rememberH2142 that thou wast a servantH5650 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and JehovahH3068 thy GodH430 broughtH3318 thee out thence by a mightyH2389 handH3027 and by an outstretchedH5186 armH2220: therefore JehovahH3068 thy GodH430 commandedH6680 thee to keepH6213 the sabbathH7676 dayH3117.
HonorH3513 thy fatherH1 and thy motherH517, as JehovahH3068 thy GodH430 commandedH6680 thee; that thy daysH3117 may be longH748, and that it may go wellH3190 with thee, in the landH127 which JehovahH3068 thy GodH430 givethH5414 thee.
Thou shalt not killH7523.
Neither shalt thou commit adulteryH5003.
Neither shalt thou stealH1589.
Neither shalt thou bearH6030 falseH7723 witnessH5707 against thy neighborH7453.
Neither shalt thou covetH2530 thy neighbor'sH7453 wifeH802; neither shalt thou desireH183 thy neighbor'sH7453 houseH1004, his fieldH7704, or his man-servantH5650, or his maid-servantH519, his oxH7794, or his assH2543, or anything that is thy neighbor'sH7453.
These wordsH1697 JehovahH3068 spakeH1696 unto all your assemblyH6951 in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784, of the cloudH6051, and of the thick darknessH6205, with a greatH1419 voiceH6963: and he added no moreH3254. And he wroteH3789 them upon twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68, and gaveH5414 them unto me.
And it came to pass, when ye heardH8085 the voiceH6963 out of the midstH8432 of the darknessH2822, while the mountainH2022 was burningH1197 with fireH784, that ye came nearH7126 unto me, even all the headsH7218 of your tribesH7626, and your eldersH2205;
and ye saidH559, Behold, JehovahH3068 our GodH430 hath showedH7200 us his gloryH3519 and his greatnessH1433, and we have heardH8085 his voiceH6963 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784: we have seenH7200 this dayH3117 that GodH430 doth speakH1696 with manH120, and he livethH2425.
Now therefore why should we dieH4191? for this greatH1419 fireH784 will consumeH398 us: if we hearH8085 the voiceH6963 of JehovahH3068 our GodH430 any moreH3254, then we shall dieH4191.
For who is there of all fleshH1320, that hath heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the livingH2416 GodH430 speakingH1696 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784, as we have, and livedH2421?
Go thou nearH7126, and hearH8085 all that JehovahH3068 our GodH430 shall sayH559: and speakH559 thou unto us all that JehovahH3068 our GodH430 shall speakH1696 unto thee; and we will hearH8085 it, and doH6213 it.
And JehovahH3068 heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of your wordsH1697, when ye spakeH1696 unto me; and JehovahH3068 saidH1696 unto me, I have heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the wordsH1697 of this peopleH5971, which they have spokenH1696 unto thee: they have wellH3190 said all that they have spokenH1696.
Oh that there were suchH2088 aH4310 heartH3824 in themH5414, that they would fearH3372 me, and keepH8104 all my commandmentsH4687 alwaysH3117, that it might be wellH3190 with them, and with their childrenH1121 for everH5769!
GoH3212 sayH559 to them, ReturnH7725 ye to your tentsH168.
But as for thee, standH5975 thou here by meH5978, and I will speakH1696 unto thee all the commandmentH4687, and the statutesH2706, and the ordinancesH4941, which thou shalt teachH3925 them, that they may doH6213 them in the landH776 which I giveH5414 them to possessH3423 it.
Ye shall observeH8104 to doH6213 therefore as JehovahH3068 your GodH430 hath commandedH6680 you: ye shall not turn asideH5493 to the right handH3225 or to the leftH8040.
Ye shall walkH3212 in all the wayH1870 which JehovahH3068 your GodH430 hath commandedH6680 you, that ye may liveH2421, and that it may be wellH2895 with you, and that ye may prolongH748 your daysH3117 in the landH776 which ye shall possessH3423.
