SermonWave has two kinds of settings: church settings, which affect everyone at your church and your public pages, and personal settings, which only change the dashboard for you. This article explains each one.
Who it's for#
- Org Admins, for church settings.
- Everyone, for personal settings.
Before you start#
- Sign in at dashboard.sermonwave.com.
- You need the Org Admin role to change church settings. See Users and roles.

The Settings screen#
Open the profile menu at the top right and choose Settings.
Organization Logo (Org Admins)#
Drag your logo into the box or click to upload. Use a PNG or JPG of at least 260 × 260 pixels, up to 20 MB. A square image works best. Users with the User role see the logo but can't change it.
Language#
The language of the dashboard itself: English or Español. This doesn't change the translation languages for your services. Those are set per device.
Theme#
Light or Dark.
Timezone#
The timezone used to show dates and times in the dashboard for you: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska or Hawaii.
Click Save Settings. The page reloads with your changes.
Church details#
Your church's name, address, timezone and website are edited in the setup guide:
- Click ? at the top of any page and choose Setup guide.
- Go to the Your church step, make your changes and click Continue.
Everything else about your church's public profile is on Manage → Church Profile. See Add your church profile.
Sermon summary emails#
After a sermon finishes processing, SermonWave can email a summary with the scriptures and key quotes.
- Go to Manage → Notifications.
- Turn Send sermon summary emails on or off.
- Under Recipients, type an email address and click Add. Repeat for each person. Click the remove button next to an address to take it off.
Changes save right away. With no recipients listed, your church's primary admin gets the emails.
Device settings#
Translation languages, the spoken voice, audio input and similar options belong to each device, not to the church. That lets you run different languages on different devices. See Device settings.
Things you can't change yourself#
- Your public web address. The
your-churchpart ofsermonwave.com/listen/your-churchis created from your church name at signup. It doesn't change when you rename your church, so printed QR codes keep working. Contact support if it really has to change. - Organization type and country. These are set when the account is created.
Troubleshooting#
I can't see the logo upload box. Only Org Admins can change the logo.
The setup guide says "Only your church's admins can change these details." Your login has the User role. Ask an Org Admin.
Times in the dashboard are an hour or more off. Check your personal Timezone under Settings. Your timezone isn't in the list? Choose the closest one and contact support.
Settings didn't save. Make sure you clicked Save Settings and wait for the page to reload. If you see "Failed to save settings.", refresh and try again.
FAQ#
Can listeners use other languages than the dashboard?#
Yes. The dashboard language only affects the dashboard. Listener languages come from your device settings.
Do I have to finish the whole setup guide to change our address?#
No. Open the guide, go straight to Your church using the steps at the top, and click Continue. You can leave right after with Finish later.
